What will astrologers do about Pluto?

This week, the International Astronomical Union (IAU) downgraded the status of Pluto to that of a "dwarf planet," What are astrologers going to do? Are they going to remove the supposed influence of Pluto from their charts? Or are they going to add all the objects in the solar system that are considered fellow dwarf planets to Pluto, and assign influences to them.

Pluto did not figure in astrology before it was discovered. Nor did Neptune and Uranus. Yet, after they were discovered, astrologers found a way to incorporate each of them in their charts.

You would think that if these previously unknown planets truly influenced human affairs, some long-ago astrologer would have the insight that events were occurring which were not accounted for by the visible planets. And based on those events, that astrologer would have been able to predict the location and orbit of each of the unknown planets.

But no astrologer ever managed to do that. The influences currently attributed to Uranus, Neptune and Pluto were previously assigned to one of the visible planets. Nothing in astrology led to a prediction of additional planets.

Whatever astrologers choose to do about Pluto, the very existence of this distant body and astrologers' inability to predict it was out there demonstrates the inherent falseness of astrology.
