Jesus Is Just Not That Into You

Thanks to a relatively short marriage, I've been dating for more years than any man should. And I've probably learned less from my dating experiences than I should have. But one thing I have learned is that not all communication is in words; sometimes the message is communicated by other means. For example, when you get stood up, a message is being sent. And generally the message is that the other person is just not that into you. (There's probably a book, or even a movie, in that thought.)
OK - maybe there is a good reason for the first time someone stands you up and you might give that other person a second chance. But if it happens again, it really emphasizes that the person is just not that into you. And if it happens a third time... well, you should not even get in that position, but really - that other person is just not that into you.
Matthew 16: 28 (KJV) Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
When Jesus supposedly said that, he committed himself to returning by about 100 AD. Any later - he would have stood the whole standing crowd up. Since then, the sun has set on Jerusalem over 697,000 times. That's 697,000 broken dates. The message from Jesus, if there really is a Jesus up there in the clouds, is pretty clear:
"I'm not coming back - ever. I'm just not that into you."
