Meditation 936
You trust Me, you really trust Me!

by: God

In light of the fire bombing of the French satirical magazine, Charlie Hebdo, for publishing an issue edited by Mohammed, we have decided to bypass the middle men and go to the top. This 4 November, 2011 Apathetic Agnostic update is edited by God, who has also written much of the editorial material.

I am so gratified to hear that this week the US House of Representatives passed a resolution affirming "In God We Trust" as the national motto of the United States.

You trust Me! You really trust Me!

I thought that the original adoption of this motto back in 1956 was just empty rhetoric, pandering to the religious vote. But when the House of Representatives actually chose to affirm it, I came to realise that they really meant it.

You trust Me! You really trust Me!

In light of this trust you, the United States of America, have placed in Me, I have decided to start to take an interest in American affairs and solve some of America's problems.

I will pay off the national debt immediately.

I will balance the budget.

My new 6-6-6 - wait, I'd better make that 7-7-7 - tax plan will eliminate poverty, guarantee full employment, and provide complete medical coverage for all Americans.

I'm doing all this for you because you trust Me! You really trust Me!

In closing.... Hold on... My beloved and only begotten Son just advised me that the resolution was non-binding. Non-binding? What is that? Nothing more than empty rhetoric pandering to the religious vote.

Deuteronomy 5:11 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

To the 396 members of the house who voted for this empty resolution, who took My Name in vain: No harps or wings for you; no virgins either if that was your preference.

And shouldn't you be working on some of those real problems rather than wasting your limited time on empty political posturing?

Have your say...
