According to Richard Land, President Obama is God's judgement upon America because of the legalization of abortion.
By the way, abortion was decriminalized back in 1973.
Land is the president of Southern Evangelical Seminary and was once the president of The Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention.
The Southern Baptists are the largest Protestant denomination in the USA - so Land is a fairly big cheese in American Christian circles - and he regards the presidency of Barack Obama as God's judgement on the USA.
To quote him directly:
We have had a situation where we have allowed thirty percent of our unborn children every year since 1973 to be killed before they had a chance to live outside their mother’s womb. God is not going to allow that kind of slaughter to go unjudged, if God would send his chosen people, the Israelites, into Babylonian captivity, he will judge the United States and I believe he is judging the United States. I believe that Barack Obama, his presidency, is a judgment of God on the United States.
Again, the Supreme Court decision on Roe vs Wade was rendered in 1973. I would ask:
Was Richard Nixon's continued presidency for a year after the Supreme Court decision a judgment of God on the United States on the issue of abortion? Not according to Richard Land. But of course, Nixon was white.
Was Gerald Ford's presidency a judgment of God on the United States on the issue of abortion? Not according to Richard Land. But of course, Ford was white.
Was Jimmy Carter's presidency a judgment of God on the United States on the issue of abortion? Not according to Richard Land. But of course, Carter is white.
Was Ronald Reagan's presidency a judgment of God on the United States on the issue of abortion? Not according to Richard Land. But of course, Reagan was white.
Was George H. W. Bush's presidency a judgment of God on the United States on the issue of abortion? Not according to Richard Land. But of course, Bush the elder is white.
Was Bill Clinton's presidency a judgment of God on the United States on the issue of abortion? Not according to Richard Land. But of course, Clinton is white.
Was George W. Bush's presidency a judgment of God on the United States on the issue of abortion? Not according to Richard Land. But of course, Bush the younger is white.
No - as far as Richard Land, one of the leaders of the sixteen million strong Southern Baptist Convention, is concerned, only Barack Obama's presidency is a judgment of God on the United States over the issue of abortion.
Is Barack Obama God's belated judgement on the USA? Or is it just sh!t that racist Christians say.
Have your say...
