Who is the author of evil? The Bible says...

I can't remember where I found the following little item or who the original author is. It's been sitting for quite a while in the folder where I put items aside for updates where I've got nothing to say. But it does illustrate the contradictory nature of a supposedly infallible text.
God isn't the Author of Evil
1 Corinthians 14:33: For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
Deuteronomy 32:4: He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
James 1:13: Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man.
Yeah he is
Lamentations 3:38: Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good?
Jeremiah 18:11: Now therefore go to, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the Lord; Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a device against you: return ye now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good.
Isaiah 45:7: I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.
Amos 3:6: Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the Lord hath not done it?
Ezekiel 20:25: Wherefore I gave them also statutes that were not good, and judgments whereby they should not live;
Of course there are those Christians that are aware of these contradictions, and they jump through hoops to argue them away. One example of arguing that the Bible does not say that God created evil is found on the website Evidence for God. In part it argues that evil is not a created thing, therefore God could not have created it.
Wow! What a great argument. I think I'll use that one myself. How about the Universe is not a created thing, therefore God could not have created it? Carrying on... Men and women are not created things, therefore God could not have created them. Well, I'm sure you get the picture.
The much better argument Evidence for God makes is that the quotes indicating God created evil are from the King James Version which uses an archaic version of modern English, which doesn't necessarily mean the same things today as when it was translated. Now that is a very good point; one which many fundamentalist Christians who argue for the inerrancy of the Bible would do well to be aware of.
