If Katrina, why not Harvey? Why not Irma?

When Hurricane Katrina struck in 2005, quite a few "Christian" commentators remarked that it was God's punishment for abortion/homosexuality/name your favorite Fundamentalist cause. Now that Hurricane Harvey has brought epic devastation to Texas, and Hurricane Irma even worse and lasting destruction to Puerto Rico I'm not hearing the same things.
Is it possible that people are learning that natural disasters are not divine retribution but rather the impersonal interplay of natural forces?
My heart goes out to all the folks affected by Harvey and Irma. I live in Louisiana and we all remember the destruction and suffering brought by Katrina and Rita twelve years ago.
Have your say...
