I do not want to celebrate any of this

If I am informed correctly, the tree of Christmas and basically anything to do with yuletide has its origins with religion as much as anything the Christians made up. Part of the yuletide celebrations was either to thank, to appease or to drive off the earth goddess or whatever supreme being(s) the people believed in in those days.

It's all religion, which I think is fine. It's just not something I'd like to spend too much time on. I as an agnostic do not want to celebrate any of this.

Putting a tree in your house is not very kind to the earth, "Santa" has turned into a winter god-being The eating, drinking and being merry is enough for me. Although I could do, and I actually do this all year long.; just like being kind to people.
