This is the image on a controversial billboard erected by St Matthew-in-the City, an Anglican Church in Auckland, New Zealand.
The liturgy in which this billboard is discussed explains the difference between fundamentalist Christianity and progressive Christianity, which this particular church preaches.
One quote from that liturgy:
"Progressive Christianity believes the Christmas stories are fictitious accounts designed to introduce the radical nature of the adult Jesus."
As I have written over and over to those Christians who write to denounce science based on a literal interpretation of the Bible, you don't have to abandon Christian faith when you accept that many Bible stories are not literal fact.
